Epping Forest District Museum ‘Late Opening’

Friday 26 November 2021, 5pm – 7pm
Epping Forest District Museum, 39-41 Sun Street, Waltham Abbey, EN9 1EL

Entry is free, booking is not required. Donations gratefully received.

Epping Forest District Museum are joining the celebrations for the Waltham Abbey Festival of Light. Come along for an evening of festive refreshments, live entertainment and games galore.

Create your own beautiful lantern to bring to the event, using our free online resource.

Join us for an evening of festive fun, refreshments, live entertainment, and a light display, before the town lights are switched on and the procession begins.

Students from Upshire Primary School will be performing Christmas classics from 5:30 and King Harold Academy will be bringing their ukulele and guitar ensemble to perform in the museum garden.

Why not also try your hand at a few board games, to coincide with our latest exhibition ‘Game Plan: Board Games Rediscovered’. The exhibition is on loan from the V&A Museum of Childhood, and looks at boardgames through history, and from across the globe.

It’s also a great opportunity to do some early Christmas shopping in our gift shop and, of course, look around the museum’s galleries and exhibitions.

Entry is free, and you can drop in an out of the museum any time between 5 and 7pm.
